Healing Power of Food

Some foods taste really good! They are easily available. In many parts of the country a 24 hour store is a short drive away. Just because a food tastes good does not mean it is good for us. Also, just because a famous TV personality says to eat a particular food does not mean we need to eat it triple the recommended amount.

What can happen when you make dietary changes:

A 4 year old boy is saved from tonsil surgery by avoiding his favorite food.

A 9 year boy finally no longer has pain when he sits on the toilet by reducing his favorite food.

A 2½ year old child gives his parents eye contact for the first time after his favorite food was eliminated for three days

A 43 year old man sees his heartburn stop by simplifying his largest meal of the day (purple and other-colored pills did not help).

A 36 year old woman who has dealt with severe acne sees her skin clear up dramatically by reducing the frequency of several staples in her diet.

A 48 year old man is longer tormented by urinary urgency and frequency by removing this popular beverage from his diet (various medical work-ups did not show any signs of disease or infection).

The list can go on. Foods have an effect on us. Everybody is different. There is not a one-size-fits-all-diet!

Let’s take a look at your diet. What are you eating? What are you drinking? When are you eating these foods? Do you know what is in them? Some people are allergic to foods. Other may have an intolerance e.g., lactose. Many people may be sensitive to certain foods. The quantity matters.

Recently, a patient completed a 7-day diet dairy, e.g., all the foods she consumed for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The diary revealed that she ate one particular food 60 times that week. Some of her symptoms included headaches, insomnia, fatigue, food cravings, joint pain, high blood pressure.

Let’s find a healing and balanced diet that addresses what your body needs.
